Photogrid
Photogrid is a method of assessing the physical characteristics of a site and noticing what is present. The method is simple: make a grid over an aerial map of the site, and take one or more photographs from each of your grid areas. Photographs can then be arranged to display and describe the interesting or problematic aspects of a site. This can then be used to facilitate discussions about what to preserve and what to change in planning of a site.
The Make a Difference class will take photographs of the entire area, including school grounds, adjacent sidewalks in the neighborhood, and the city park, to help envision connection and integrity of design across the whole site.
